Four offtakers sign for the first 400 MW
A data-centre operator, a steelmaker, a water utility and a regional grid company will take all of Halvard One's output.
Every megawatt-hour Halvard One will make is now sold. Four buyers have signed 20-year contracts at a fixed price, indexed to inflation.
Half the output goes to a new AI campus beside the site, which will also take waste heat for cooling. A steelmaker in Port Talbot takes 120 MW for hydrogen. A water utility and the regional grid take the rest.
Fixed-price contracts are what made the plant financeable. Our lenders see the same thing a utility sees: a power station with a customer list.
