H-0 holds 94 million °C for eight seconds
Our half-scale test machine set a record for its size, and the plasma stayed put for the whole shot.

At 14:06 on 28 August, shot 4,112 in our H-0 test machine reached 94 million °C and held it for eight seconds, a record for a tokamak of its size.
The more important number is the second one. For the full eight seconds the plasma did not touch the wall. Our control system corrected its shape 8,000 times without a single disruption.
The result feeds straight into the design of Halvard One, which is sized to hold 150 million °C for as long as the grid needs power.
Full data from the shot is being submitted for peer review and will be shared with the national fusion programme.
